Somehow, out of all the twists and turns our lives could have taken, and out of all the chances we might have missed, it almost seems like we were given a meant-to-be-moment, to meet, to get to know one another, and to set the stage for a special togetherness. Serendipity

It's not often that you get the chance to meet the company CEO up-close in person and pick his brain on business insights, leadership tips and career advice. I must have been a fool to turn the invitation down - but I did, because I made a promise to drive my colleagues for a pre-CNY lunch. I didn't want the lunch to be cancelled just because I put my selfish career needs above a promise I made.

But God is good and all knowing. I know He has plans for me and making this lunch with the CEO was definitely part of His plan. It's also not often that you'd receive a personal call from the Country Manager asking that I reconsider and join the lunch with the CEO.

Thank you, God - for the opportunity and divine intervention for making it happen! And thank you, Technology for enabling such a rare opportunity to be digitized.

Perspective

When things are looking down, look up! Sometimes, it's as simple as shifting your perspective. And sometimes, life just needs to be looked at from a different perspective.
Who knows - you might just discover something amazing in the process.

Whoa! This blog has been on hiatus for far too long. So much has happened over the year, and each of the events should really be remembered with a post on the blog. Time to get the writing/posting habit back.

The SCUBA Attempt

On 10-11-2011, Ally attempted to discover what scuba diving is all about. *pats self on the back*

There's not much to say, really. It was a short course, only 1.5 hours.

Learnt how to clear the goggles underwater, how to use the regulator, and most importantly, how to retrieve the regulator in the event it comes off underwater. Also did a lap in the full gear. 1 lap! Too little, i must say. Went for the course alone, was scared shit. Glad it went alright though and even made some new friends. Felt some tightness in chest when breathing using the regulator. Thought I was the only one feeling that way, but turns out, the other 2 girls I made friends with also felt the same way!

Conclusion?

- Maybe scuba diving not really my thing. I don't think my chest can take it, considering my asthma problem.

- The adrenaline rush of being out of my comfort zone is crazy. But it is at times like this that I learn to have more faith in my capabilities.

Fear is always holding me back. But i'm glad that this time, I did not let fear win.
